The workbook also includes unlabeled images for self-assessment. Emergency Acupuncture Insert Card Set (PDF to Print Yourself)
The front side displays acupuncture points that have proven to be particularly effective and fast-acting in emergencies. I have been applying the basic points and brain points of Yamamoto New Scalp Acupuncture (YNSA), as well as selected points from TCM body acupuncture, in practice for 30 years now. This non-exhaustive selection serves as a suggestion for supportive / optional acupuncture treatment in emergency situations, particularly in mountain huts, on ships, in airplanes, deep in the forest, or in other inaccessible terrain, as well as abroad. Wherever rapid qualified assistance from professionals cannot be expected, acupuncture and acupressure can be applied as a first optional immediate measure (F = the capital F in the ABCDEF algorithm). For example, Small Intestine 2, at the temporomandibular joint, is also referred to as the mouth-opening point according to Dr. Jochen Gleditsch, and it relaxes the masseter muscles quickly and reliably. (see Emergency treatment of epilepsy with Yamamoto New Scalp Acupuncture (YNSA))
The back side lists the indications, meaning the medical conditions for which acupuncture or acupressure can be used supportively in emergencies.
The emergency acupuncture insert card is meant to be a cheat sheet, allowing you, for example, to quickly check en route if and which acupuncture points can be utilized.
The insert cards are also intended as a summary of the seminar content for the "Acupuncture and Acupressure in Emergency Situations" courses.
